RACHEL ASKEW
Rachel is the Founder and Head Coach of NEXT, an organizational culture consulting firm. She is passionate about coming alongside teams of all kinds to establish equitable, inclusive, and transformative leaders for world-changing communities. As a Head Coach at NEXT, Rachel has partnered with the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma’s Science and Math Institute, Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce and most recently with Pierce County as the Assistant Director of the Pierce County Business Accelerator. This accelerator is an active investment in the community that prioritizes businesses owned by people of color and is creating an undeniable impact on the economic development of the South Sound.
Rachel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication and African American Studies from the University of Puget Sound. She also works as a national organizer and strategist with Cities United, helping their national network of Mayors from across the country hear from and implement investment strategies in young black men and boys. Though her work has taken her many places across the nation, Rachel is proud to call Pierce County home.
